Please, do NOT feed the trumpet player's ego...
Today I had to give a speech. A speech that I didn't start writing until 7 pm yesterday. So, needless to say, I was nervous. BUT... I got up there, accomplished my main goal of not starting out with "um" or "okay" and got the speech done.
So, then I decided that it was time to go talk to Gary about whatever. So, I went to see him and low and behold, there is my speech teacher. He told me, in front of a couple people, that I did extremely well on my speech, and I was all, "*blush* Thank you!" and I let it go. But as Gary was dealing with someone, my teach pulled me aside and told me how, at the beginning of the summer, he had talked to Gary and asked him if he "knew anything about this Gabby girl" and Gary said yeah. My speech teach then went on to claim how much talent I had for speaking and how I was going to go really far and how the department had to keep an eye on me. He asked me how I got into the comm. major and asked what careers I was looking into. He kept reiterating how great my speech was today, and how great all of my work has been so far.
Needless to say, my ego was very full by the time I got home.
So, yeah... I've been really cocky today. Because, come on, let's face it; I'm awesome! ;) but I just thought I'd share all of this with you wonderful people, but only so you don't run the risk of over-feeding my ego for the next few days! That could be bad... maybe!
